Ceremony for Auspicious Beginnings
In Indian culture we have a deity named Ganesha who is invoked for all Beginnings. This invocation might have particular significance for a New Year for the beginning of a year is a time of reflection and planning for beginnings. Ganesh is an elephant headed deity who, for the East Indians symbolize the superintendent of powerful limbic forces that lie submerged just beneath one’s conscious awareness. The invocation to Ganesh assists one symbolically to marshal these otherwise untappable limbic forces into the fulfillment of set intentions. In the invocation of Ganesh there is a common mantra that is chanted as a refrain along with other invocations that is usually led by a principal chanter. This mantra is Om Gam Ganapata-ye Namaha. You are invited to join, set your intentions and chant along.

2012 Event Presenters Below
Bhagavan Das Syham from Hridaya Hermitage
At Hridaya Hermitage we seek to reverse this negative trend through our
continuous 24/7 meditational practice known as VaShi Yoga and an unbroken
morning and evening practice known as the VaShi Mandala. Living as a group of
devoted practitioners we strive to attain the pinnacle attainment of Yoga ( the
divine body). Through collective attention with the intention to reverse the
darkness of the world we seek to bring life to its full potential. The negative
vibrations of the world are never at rest, to reverse what is, there must be an
opposing force stronger than the one currently being put out. This is the
mission of Hridaya.
Throughout this special evening we will be demonstrating
the full VaShi Yoga practice as we do at our mountain hermitage in Maine. All
aspects of this Yoga are specific to the VaShi Yoga lineage, this is the oldest
living lineage of Yoga in the world! Aspects of the practice include inversions,
backbends, pranayamas, culminating with a devotional puja (ceremonial offering
to life). Practitioners will describe the internal workings of the practice,
showing how this rational approach can in turn create answer all questions and
solve the problems of the world.

indigenous women from Lakota and other nations a place to come and reconnect to
traditional ways, and a communal space for people of very different backgrounds to learn and practice respect for each
other and the earth. Together, Beverly and Lushanya provide the KKT community
opportunity to witness the honoring of native heritage, ceremonies, and
community building through the perspective of multi-generations.

Gidget Dancer a second degree Gardnerian High Priestess
Wicca, the modern revival of the Ancient Religion of Witchcraft, is the worship of the Great Mother seen in Moon and Earth and the stars that course through the Heavens. She and her consort, the God whose horns or antlers represent our connection with Nature, protect and watch over the destinies of all true Witches. To the practitionaers of Witchcraft, Goddess, God and Divine Spirit are immanent in all creation. All Nature and life is sacred and the Magick Circle is a temple where humans blend their wills with the Goddess and God.
We will be invoking Divine Assistance with focused words of power, candle lighting and sympathetic magickal techniques. Through ritual drama, guided meditation and visualization in addition to chants and song a spell for peace will be cast for our greatest good and the good of All. So mote it be.

Ambassadors for Raja Yoga Meditation: Brianne McCarthy, Diane Medeiros, Merrillyn Hener
Inner Space Meditation Center
& Gallery aims to help people explore the true nature of mind and
consciousness, experience deep peace, and to empower themselves
with the tools to succeed and lead more fulfilling lives. Inner Space, where
people are free to discover their own inner strengths and values, is
conveniently located in Harvard Square.
At Inner Space, most of our
courses and talks are based on the philosophy and practice of Raja Yoga
Meditation. The name "Raja" is derived from a sanskrit word meaning king or
master. This method teaches us to regain mastery over our mind and senses, to
return to a state of self sovereignty. There are no mantras or chanting used in
this form of meditation. Raja yoga helps us to experience ourselves as souls,
beings of light, whose original nature is peace. Through the experience of soul
consciousness, we are taught to connect to the Supreme Source in silence, to
regain the strength and spiritual power we have lost. It is this deep connection
to the Divine that sets Raja Yoga apart from other types of meditation. This
connection infuses us with the power we need to transform ourselves, our
relationships, and our lives into their original state of peace, happiness and
love.
